Confidentiality and duty of disclosure
A place where you can say everything
All the staff at Berin are bound by confidentiality. Amongst other reasons, in order to make sure that you can feel safe and confident when you talk to us and spend time with us. This means that anything you tell us stays between you and the person you talk to. However, if we get information about something that means that you or others are in danger, we do still have a duty to disclose information in an attempt to get more help.
In addition, we have a stricter duty of disclosure if we receive information about children under 18 years, who are suffering abuse or neglect. This means that we in our job have a duty to inform the child protection services, Barnaverndartænastan, so that the child and family can receive more help.
